Dr Natasha Lightfoot is an Antiguan-American historian who was born in the Bronx, NY. She has dedicated a large portion of her young life to educating budding scholars, other historians and laypeople about the history of Africans in the Americas with a passion for educating people about the history of Antigua.
She has written a must read book called, Troubling Freedom: Antigua and the Aftermath of British Emancipation. She has also recently won a competitive fellowship to complete her next book.
In addition to that, she has been able to obtain funding for the Antigua & Barbuda archives, from the a British Library grant which will provide training on digitalization of historical documents and the resources to digitalize historic documents
