Lourawls “Tum Tum” Nairn, Jr is Bahamian. He grew up in Nassau Bahamas

Today he plays basketball for  Michigan State Spartans.

But for Nairn playing Basketball is not only a dream come through but an opportunity to give back to his mom and his family. Nairn’s mom went through a difficult pregnancy with Nairn and was in a coma for three months after birth. Imagine being held by your mom for the first time 4 months after she gave birth.

Born Oct. 8, 1994 • Son of Lourawls Nairn Sr. and Monalisa McKinney • Moved to the United States from the Bahamas at age 13 • Nicknamed “Tum Tum” after a character in the 1992 movie “3 Ninjas” • Plans to major in urban and regional planning.

There are many good words to describe the dedication of this young Bahamian but no one can better tell this story than Nairn himself. In the video below, Nairn shares his story and the importance of family, Bahamas and his fans.
