Bahamian Buddy Hield is on his way to NBA stardom but he hasn’t allowed that to get to his head. This young man is humble and kind..not just in words but in action.

He has always said he would give back to Bahamas especially young Bahamians and that what he did once again. Recently Buddy hosted a three-day youth camp and clinic in the Bahamas. In an interview with The Freeport News, Buddy explained his reason for hosting this camp “The camp is just for fun, showing the kids a little something” he said.

Buddy is fully aware of the value in providing young Bahamians with an opportunity to showcase their basketball skills. A few years ago, Buddy was one of those kids with dreams of playing in the NBA. As Buddy further explained in the interview with the Freeport News

“Like me, when I went to camps I took stuff I learned from camps and worked on it. So, hopefully they change their mind-set to go out after camp and work on their moves and stuff like what I did to better myself.”

This was not only a sporting event but attendees were provided with gifts and a four year scholarship was also awarded.
