Throughout the Caribbean, the streets are a popular spot for playing sports especially soccer, cricket or basketball but did you know there is a game called Road Tennis. Yes, this might sound strange for those who have never heard about this game but Road Tennis invented in Barbados more than 70 years ago, is a cross between lawn tennis and table tennis.

As Caribbean people always do, when cost seems to be an obstacle to enjoyment, they create ingenious alternatives.

Today the sport is now played both on road and on the court. There is even a professional road tennis association with members from across the globe. Even well known tennis player Andy Murray has tried his hands at playing road table tennis (watch video highlights here).
