When I saw this video clip of CandyMan, a comedian from St Vincent and the Grenadines, I thought maybe Caribbean TV Stations should start presenting news this way; maybe some of us would begin to pay more attention to the real issues.
In little over 9 minutes, CandyMan, covered a wide range of topics, from local stories (St Vincent and Grenadines) to regional news, even touching on the popular Vybz Kartel story.

CandyMan’s presentation was part of the Miss SVG 2014 pageant show and although it was mainly intended for entertainment, he had the audience laughing. As he touched on each “story”, covering the funny side and then presenting real clips related to the story, it was obvious that the audience knew what he really meant.
Seriously, I don’t believe that all TV news should be presented from a comedic standpoint BUT many Caribbean TV stations should get a little bit creative.
Watch the videos below of newscasts from across the Caribbean and compare; what’s your choice?
