There is something powerful about saying what you believe. There is something more powerful than simply repeating words. Yes, words do matter but they matter most when we actually act on those words. Trivial, maybe?
As a woman born into the culture of the Caribbean, I struggle each day to believe the words “I am Strong“. There are many times that I have said those words but honestly, those were my weakest moments.
The 1-minute video below with just a few seconds of a woman with a Caribbean accent repeating “I am strong” is a reminder of how much I struggle to say and believe those words. I have always believe that laws could determine my equality as a woman but believing in myself is the most important step.

And why do I even take time to share what many might say are trivial words, because I have now honestly acknowledge that I have far to go to truly start believing that I am a strong woman.
