On June 1, Dr. Henri R. Ford, a Haitian born pediatric surgeon, will become Dean of the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami.

This is a remarkable journey for someone who spent his early childhood in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. His inspirational journey is worth sharing. A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Ford spent the past 13 years in the role of vice president and chief of surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

Ford has always remain connected to his homeland Haiti. For several years he has been giving back to the people of Haiti, returning on several occasions to offer his medical expertise and also donating medical supplies to Haiti.

Here is Ford in an interview a few weeks after he successfully separated conjoined twins in Haiti.

This is a great day for the people of Haiti and the rest of the Caribbean. We would like to congratulate Dr Henri Ford on his latest achievements.
