Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world said Nelson Mandela. This maybe the solution to making Haiti a better place.
Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. The country seems to have had a long history of “bad lucks” political riots and even devastating 2010 earthquake. I have read and even heard statements blaming these seemingly endless problems and disasters on the “sins of the country. The hundreds of millions of aid seems to have had little or no positive impact of the lives of ordinary Haitians.
Perhaps the only way forward is educate Haitians out of their problems and I don’t mean an imported education system. Instead if Haitians are provided with the capacity to develop their own unique education system, I think they are capable of taking their future into their own hands
Organizations like buildOn who since 2001 has been building schools in Haiti should be encouraged.

Once children are able to enjoy a proper meal everyday, experiencing the joy of an education will help to put a smile on their face.
