In the face of a major sickness, there are many courageous people have become more determined to live their lives to the fullest-this Jamaican woman is one of them.
A few years ago, Sophraya Price was an active young lady. She played netball regularly, recently graduated from community college and was on her way to start university. But in 2016 everything changed. One day while playing netball she collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.
Within a week she went totally paralyzed from head to toe, with multiple seizures. At first it was thought she had a spinal injury. After a number of medical test, was diagnosed with six different types of epileptic and nonepileptic seizures.
For many people that would have dampened their spirit but Sophraya took these challenges in strides and have since shown that life goes on. A few months ago Sophraya opened up an online store called Laiso Pet Store and More. This all came from her love for pets and her desire to become an entrepreneur.
In an interview with the Jamaican Star, Sophraya said,
“I have loved animals since I was a child. Growing up, I had lots of cats and dogs, rabbits and hamsters, and even now, although I have ventured into this business, I am really careful and selective when choosing their new owners. I want to know that they are going into suitable homes and so forth”
This is such an inspiring story for those who feel down and out. It shows that in the midst of trials, that one can have a positive outlook on life.
But Sophraya needs help to manage this serious illness. There is a GoFundpage set up to help offset her medical expenses.
