Eight years ago Damian Garth Brown from Jamaica, graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from York University, Toronto. Now he has landed his latest role in a hit film.
This has been a remarkable journey for Damian who came to Canada as an international student from Spanish Town, Jamaica. When he graduated from York University , his Mom and Dad, Norma and Lloyd, came from Jamaica to witness the ceremony.
This graduation meant a lot for Damion. In the video below, watch Damian lean over to speak with is Dr. Michael Lee-Chin, his “hero”. Dr. Chin had just himself received an honourary Doctor of Laws degree from York University 30 minutes earlier. Damian raised the Jamaican flag to show his pride.
Brown’s role in ‘Downsizing’ marks a new milestone for this Jamaican-born actor. The film features an all-star lineup with Academy Award winners Matt Damon and Christoph Waltz and Academy Award nominee Kristen Wigg in leading roles.
