Growing up in Jamaica, Barry’s parents instilled in him the importance of the love of God, family and education. Following their guidance he attended Kingston College, a well respected Jamaican high school.

In 1986, at age 25, Barry followed his heart to Toronto to be with his wife Michelle, who had emigrated a few years prior. In 1993, he got a job at the Toronto Transit Corporation (TTC) and spent 16 years as a Bus Operator.

During that time, he completed two degrees at York University, a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and a Bachelor of Education. After steadily moving through the ranks at TTC, he took a job as Duty Station Manager.

In his spare time, he dedicates his energy to his church, wife and three children. This Jamaican continues to give back to Jamaica through the Kingston College Old Boys Association.
