Almost 10 years ago, Jamaican born Barrington Irving, then 23 years old, became one of the youngest person to pilot a plane around the world by himself.
Irving’s journey is an example of how hard work and ambition can make the difference to a young man who was not suppose to accomplished this feat. He grew up in Miami’s inner city, surrounded by crime and poverty, but beat all odds. While this seems miles away from his homeland, his journey mirrors many Jamaican youths who live in similar or worst conditions.
