Life can change in a short time and often times for the worst.Jermaine Barrett, a 26 year old man who lives in Montego Bay, Jamaica knows exactly what this means.
Just over a year ago Barrett, led a normal life. Today a serious life threatening medical condition has put a sudden stop his dreams.
The left side of his face is home to a massive tumor which is not only painful but also affects him emotionally. In a recent interview, Barrett said
“Sometimes I will go around kids and they run from me. My nieces and nephews don’t even recognise me, anymore. When they see me they run and cry, so it pains [my] heart,”
This young man and his family is pleading for help. On a website HELP JERMAINE BARRETT BEAT CANCER, created to share his story and raise funds, Jermaine said,
“I would really appreciate some help because I’ve tried everything. Only thing I could do now is just pray and ask God to work some miracle because I don’t know where else to turn,”
According to his GoFundme page, Jermaine needs financial support to get the surgery and treatment to remove the cancerous tumor. He will need to travel to the cancer research center in Tampa, Florida or to Cuba for specialized surgery.
