Three Jamaican Teenagers Growing Up in One of Kingston’s Marginalized Inner City Communities

Three Jamaican Teenagers Growing Up in One of Kingston's Marginalized Inner City Communities 1

Made in Trenchtown is a video project with three teenagers from Trenchtown, Jamaica. Philomena, Diamond and Stephan were given the opportunity to film their everyday life and interview friends and family.

The film captures the challenges of growing up in one of Jamaica’s marginalized inner city communities and also documents an unusual meeting between a young Dutch filmmaker and the three Jamaican teenagers.  Throughout the video, it is obvious that these Jamaican teenagers have great potential but like many Jamaican kids who live inner city communities, its a challenge to live up to their potential.

I invite you to watch patiently through this 30+ minutes, it is definitely worth watching.
