If You Watch Nothing Else Today, Watch and Listen To This Young Jamaican Girl

Confident, smart, ambitious are just some of the words that come to my mind to describe this little Jamaican girl. It is obvious that this video was not just about her but she was so captivating that it was clear that she was the “star of the show”

With all the negativity that I come across about Jamaica, I feel good knowing that there are confident kids like this Jamaican girl.

This young Jamaican girl wants to be as fast as Usain Bolt. She wants to be the best of the best. And she is not apologetic or shy about what she wants.

There are many Jamaican kids like her; I grew up with some of them. But many of them were left at the wayside; prison, poverty or the grave their destiny.

Lack of opportunities, little or no family support and governments who fail to see any reason to offer help, are just some of the many reasons why some of these kids end up on the wrong road.

Back in the days, this young Jamaican girl would be deemed as being “too bright” (feisty), “how could you interrupt big people when dem talking?” But today it takes that level of confidence and ambition to climb your way out of this crab hole.

I just want to say to this young Jamaican girl “Big Up Yourself”
