These young Jamaican male nursing students are changing how we think about nurses in general.

The field of nursing is changing in Jamaica and across the world. The demand for new nurses each year has open up opportunities for men who traditionally have stayed away from this field.

But there are many hurdles to overcome. Male nurses have long been viewed as “less masculine ” thereby discouraging young men to join the nursing field. These young Jamaican male students represents a chance for us to view the nursing profession in a different light
