You are never too young to care about your environment especially the negative impact of climate change in the Caribbean.
I am now seeing an increasing number of Caribbean youths finally waking up to realize that climate change is a threat that can’t be ignored. This threat will be detrimental to the future of young people from small islands across the Caribbean.
Meet Dizzanne Billy, a young climate activist with the Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN).
Dizzanne graduated from the University of the West Indies with an MSc. in Global Studies, focusing her research on global environmental governance. She is passionate about writing, environmental advocacy, and learning about different cultures.
In the video below, Dizzanne tells us how Caribbean youths will inherit the consequences of climate actions being taken right now.
For young advocates like Dizzanne, climate change is inevitable. They are aware and have started taking matters into their own hands to create a better today and a sustainable future.
