Poets Are Born Not Made-Meet St Lucian Poet Vladimir Lucien

1 min read

This St Lucian Poet has a famous first name ” Vladimir ” but this poet’s power comes from his pen.

People are led to write a poem because they have been strongly moved by some event. Only a few, however, succeed in turning the experience into a poem that will be meaningful to another person. And Lucien has definitely succeeded in connecting with his poems.

His first collection of poetry, Sounding Ground, was the winner of the Caribbean region’s major literary prize for anglophone literature, the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature, making Lucien the youngest ever winner of the prize.

For those who feel more comfortable with sight and sound, here is a recent interview at the ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival where Lucien talks about his poetry
