Last week in Castries, St Lucia, a baby was discovered alive in a black plastic bag that was placed on the side of road. Unfortunately doctors were unable to save the baby’s life.

The first thing comes to mind is what kind of mother would do such a thing. Obviously there is no excuse for such an act but it seems with the rise of teenage pregnancy in the Caribbean, young women are becoming desperate.
When a mother decides to abandon her baby in this manner, she must be facing a predicament.
But the problem of teenage pregnancy in the Caribbean is being made worst as more and more young women are having sex with married men.
