Someday I hope people in Trinidad and Tobago and perhaps the rest of the Caribbean will know this young man. Let me introduce you to 20 year old Mandela Patrick.

Last year Patrick obtained 10 distinctions in in his CXC examinations and was also the most outstanding candidate in mathematics and Information and Communication Technology. He was also ranked eighth in the Caribbean in the game of squash.

In the video interview below, Patrick shares his experiences and offers advice to young people in the Caribbean.

Great words of advice from a young man from Trinidad and Tobago. I know the sky is the limit for this young man and I do believe that the future is bright for Caribbean youths. Let us encourage young people like Mandela Patrick across the Caribbean.

I will continue to follow Patrick’s progress at Harvard and hopefully someday, I will be able to thank him for his hard work and for being a shining example for the rest of the Caribbean.

Well done young man !
